Real Wedding: L + E
You’ve probably seen us raving about last weekend’s wedding all over our Instagram and if you haven’t, you’re about to! We were back up at the lovely Cow Shed in Crail for L + E’s wedding and what a day it was. It was one of the first weddings we’ve done in Crail where the ceremony has been off site meaning that the room where the ceremony usually is was all decked out with some Little White Cow beauties. This gave us plenty of time to go round taking some pictures of the set up before the bride and groom and the guests arrived. L + E had chosen a Gatsby-esque theme with teal blues and navys. Think walls covered in pages of the dictionary, 20’s style calligraphy and all the bronze mirrors and hoops you could fit in the venue.
After a grey start in Edinburgh, the sun came out in Crail for the arrival of the newly weds in their vintage style car, (of course). As the couple had had their ceremony in St. Andrews as well as some of their photos, it meant that they were able to relax and enjoy the reception with their friends and family. This is usually the point in the day when the couple are whisked off by the photographer for some photos so it was really great that they were able to spend that extra bit of time with their guests. Also, there were halloumi fries at the reception so you wouldn’t want to miss those!
As a self-confessed cheese lover, L + E’s starter was at the peak of all wedding menus.. Not only had the halloumi fries featured in the reception, the couple had chosen our big, dippy, gooey baked cheese to kick dinner off. Think torn up sourdough bread, boozy fruits and a baked brie to get stuck into. The stuff of dreams. Mains followed with a mix of the venison cumberland sausage and campfire beans or spinach, ricotta and golden beetroot cannelloni. Everything was tied up with our smash your own Eton Mess - definitely our most popular dessert!
