Real Wedding: H + E
Okay so we’ve blinked and it’s now 4 days until April. Wedding season is fast approaching and it will be the 4th May before we know it - slightly terrifying but we’re focusing on how excited we are to get back to everything!
Last weekend we had a wee taste of what’s to come as we headed back out to Harburn for H + E’s wedding. The couple had used the superpowers of Get Knotted for some styling on the tables and it looked incredible - so good that it was on our instagram almost as soon as we arrived! The barn always looks amazing but there’s something about trestle tables bursting with greenery that just adds something. One thing that we absolutely loved were H + E’s favours. They had laid out bits of paper that you pop in some soil and then, after lots of water and light, flowers appear. Eco - friendly and a great gift, what’s not to love?!
H + E had chosen our family style table picnic with two options for starters and mains, a proper feast for their guests! We served up an antipasti dish as well as a beetroot gravlaxa for their starters and then roast beef with all the trimmings and BBQ pork belly for mains. The majoirty of the guests at the wedding were Italian and Spanish and H + E wanted to make sure that everyone had enough to eat - I think we can confidently say that this was achieved!! Dessert was a staff favourite - sticky toffee pudding! And no, you definitely wouldn’t have found staff in the kitchen having some pudding after dinner!
Dancing took place in the round room after dinner. I’ve never seen this be done before but it actually worked really well. Leaving all of the tables up after dinner meant that everyone had somewhere to sit if they wanted to have a drink and catch up with friends. One of my favourite parts of the evening reception is the reaction from the guests when they hear rumours about ‘more food’ or ‘bacon rolls’ from other guests. Cue the stampede from the long room to the Tuck Truck outside!
We had a ball looking after H + E last weekend and we really hope everyone enjoyed the food! Now, onto next weeks wedding at the Cow Shed!
